Midnight Mystery from Alterna Comics

Midnight Mystery an all-new mini-series from Alterna Comics just hit stores today. Midnight Mystery is a look at a night in the life of Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” King, a real gumshoe who has seen things nobody should see.

Midnight Mystery begins with Zeke asking the question, “What if Ghosts were Real?”  Our Investigator goes on to describe a roster of “what if” unnatural beings… setting up our story. Soon called to his next case a missing son… a horror actor missing son, one that the actor has never met, raised or supported. What happens when Zeke finds the boy is truly terrifying! Readers will never be the same after this comic book!

Bernie Gonzalez, creator and owner of Midnight Mystery publishes the next great “gumshoe” mystery. Gonzalez’s dialogue reminds of the late-night Supernatural Suspense movies that were hosted by b-actors dressed up as vampires and such… as I’m reading I can here Uncle Teds voice (Uncle Ted’s Ghoul School) speaking in my head!… Classic!

Wes Locher’s artwork transforms the reader into a time when private-detectives were the Bee’s Knee’s, often called upon for some horrific mystery! It’s not glossy artwork. Almost black and white with a splash of color, really fits the time-period!

Comic Book readers this is another great hit published out of Alterna Comics and the best part… each issue is priced at $1.50 an issue! Yep you read it right, Alterna Comics are all priced at a reasonable $1.50! This is a must have comic… 5 ghoulish stars out 5!

Middlewest # 1 Image Comics and Skottie Young

Skottie Young breaks out of the comic book humor universe to give fans an all-new story that hits home with many people, a story that Skottie says “comes from a personal place.” He goes on to say, “our teams (letters, dialogue, colorist and inkers) hearts and souls have been put into this. And, I can truly say to you I’m putting all of me into this book, tears included.”

Middlewest #1 is a comic book about a young man dealing with a life that seems to be filled with sorrow. Middlewest opens with Abel, a young man exclaiming about how much he hates it here, in the Middlewest… the wind is always blowing, violently and Abel believes that one day the wind will pick him up and carry him away.

Abel wakes every morning at 4:30 to deliver newspapers, but today Saturday he overslept, neglecting his duties… awoken by his father’s voice screaming at him, this is when we start to learn about Abel’s father… and he’s not a nice guy!

Abel soon begins his paper route, but in the middle of his deliveries the hateful wind his papers are snatched away, and while feebly trying to collect the papers his best-buddies arrive. And, soon he is coerced by his friends to join them for some fun, it is Saturday after all!  They head over to Randall’s Liquor for pop and snacks before a day of gaming. At Randall’s, Abel’s friend has no money and puts his snacks in Abel’s bag, and of course they are promptly caught shoplifting. Lucky for them Old Man Randall just calls their parents instead of the cops!

After making Abel wait all day and well into the night his father finally shows up to take Abel home. Abel apologizes several times to his dad, but his father does not care and once they are home he tells the boy that he will be sleeping outside… an ensuing fight begins, and this is where things start to get weird! Just what the heck is Abel’s dad? Find Out for Yourself by picking up a copy of Middlewest #1 at White Dragon Comics!

Skottie Youngs new comic hit’s home as it touches base on domestic violence… the writing is exceptional making you feel what Abel feels and the artwork will pull at your imagination, drawing you in, giving you a perception, a sense feeling Abel’s emotions!

Middlewest is going to sell-out fast, this is a must-read comic! Middlewest is being released November 21, 2018…. I highly suggest putting it on your pull-list, so you do not miss out on the comic of the year!
