Horror comic book writer Steve Niles brings his classic 30
Days of Night comic book back for another “scare the heck out of you” round!
30 Days of Night brings us back to the town of Barrow
Alaska, where it all began! Citizens of
Barrow are making their annual escape, before darkness arrives, no-one wants to
spend the next 30 days’ in darkness!
In the opening scenes of 30 Days of Darkness readers are
introduced to the main characters, the sheriff, his deputy, Rich and Martha (a
pissed off couple that do not get to leave Barrow) and a stranger that has
appeared out of
nowhere!
nowhere!
Niles jumps right into 30 Day’s setting up a couple of story-lines, separating the sheriff and his deputy investigating two different complaints,
Rich and Martha fighting about leaving and a stranger appearing in town looking
for a job.
30 Days of Night #1 is a great
introduction to what fans know will be one hell of a mystery wrapped up in a blood-lust!
Readers will not see the terror in issue one, but instead learn a little about Barrow’s
town folks that are unable to escape the coming 30 Day’s in Darkness.
Steve Niles does an excellent job
of introducing the characters without giving away too much in the beginning.
Artist Piotr Kowalski’s artwork pulls readers into the comic with his blue
overtones which set the feel for the night scenes, which we all know are going
to be terrifying!
The ending scene…. wow this is
where fans know something is happening and it isn’t good!! I truly enjoyed this
issue, if you’re a horror fan than this comic is just what you’re looking
for!
White Dragon Comics has the latest
issue of 30 Day’s of Night available and ready for purchase, don’t hesitate,
before you know it… it will be gone!
