Boom Comics has been on a roll, publishing high-quality comics
with well written plots and great leading characters. Abbott is one the latest
published comics from Boom Comics to hit stores everywhere. Abbott #1 was
released January 24 and quickly sold-out and demanded a second printing!
When you first start reading Abbott you get the feeling that
this is going to be another political comic book slanting truths and injustices.
I almost put the comic book down, tired of political this and that, but the
writing was good so I had to keep going and boy am I glad I didn’t put Abbott
down!
As you get into reading Abbott #1 you start to realize
something else is going on in the shadows, something evil! Chain-smoking
tabloid reporter Elena Abbott is pulled into an investigation of a series of
grisly crimes that for some reason the police are reluctant too, why? Only
hard-nosed Abbott can get to the bottom of things!
Saladin Ahmed’s writing has the ability to pull the reader
in, giving them a sense of the turmoil of the time-period and unease knowing that
somethings amiss, that you just can’t put your thumb on! Are the police hiding
what’s going on, or are they afraid of what’s happening?
Saladin Ahmed takes the story you think your going to get…
then completely spins it in a direction readers would never guess is coming!
Artist Sami Kivela provides the artwork for Abbott. Sami
brings to life the time-period with detailed, character-building artwork! Comic
book fans of the unusual, weird and horror-based comics this is a must have for
your collection! Abbott will have a five-issue run and I’m sure by issue #5 we’ll
all be crying for More!!
