The Walking Dead comic book just keeps getting better and
better! New twist, threats and characters keep the comic going strong, month
after month! Years have passed since Negan and the Saviors were defeated but new
threats have arisen, some from within. Others like the Whispers come from outside.
With the Whispers defeated and the network of communities stronger than ever, an expedition is mounted to seek out other survivors that Eugene has contacted via ham radio.
In spite of all the progress they have made recently, the survivors are completely unprepared for what they find in the Commonwealth. An advanced society with amenities, creature comforts and even its own police force makes quite an impression, especially for Michonne who is miraculously reunited with her daughter. But, they will soon learn that this “garden paradise” has serpents as well!
One interesting aspect of the Commonwealth is they
importance they place on the past. Every citizen is expected to work the same
job or profession they had before the “change.” While letting doctors be
doctors and farmers be farmers may seem like a good idea, lots of other people
did not necessarily like what they did before. For example, Michonne and Rick
are enjoying lunch at a sidewalk café, Michonne quips, “Can you imagine surviving
the apocalypse and then ending up a waitress?”
