Writer Ryan Parrot describes Volition as a “sci-fi fable” that is set in the future where robots have become self-aware. Volition is a unique story, usually robots depicted in comics, books and movies are evil and want to take over the world… but that is not the case in Volition. Instead these carbon copies of humans (newer models) have assimilated and formed their own society! These robots live and work beside humans, but they have a huge problem… Rust!

Technology isn't slowing down; newer more upscale models are released almost daily, and the old bots are left to fend for themselves. So, many of these robots are forced to go to extreme, even illegal, lengths to stay top-of-the-line and that leads to the creation of a consciousness destroying virus called, Rust.  This brings us to our story two down-on-their luck robots who meet in a de-commission facility, go on a journey to find their creator and see if they can help save robot kind from annihilation.

 

Volition is well written, easy to follow and a whopper of a story! Ryan Parrot does an excellent job, keeping readers

attention, as they eagerly turn the next page to see what next! Omar Francia’s artwork is beautiful with hints of vibrant colors in just the right spots!

If you are science-fiction comic book fan, then this is a must have comic! And, if you are not into sci-fi… read it anyways, it’s that good!
