Review: Harbinger #25

Harbinger #25 - Valiant Comics 2014

Josh Dysart keeps bringing us hits!

Harbinger is on fire!

Issue twenty-five gives the reader some real insight into the super-villain, Toyo Harada. Harada, a powerful and influential man – possibly an insane man – a “Harbinger”; a herald of the future, a Psiot with the potential to reshape the course of humanity’s destiny, and he has decided to go to war with the world.

Why?

He does not have the patience, or the time to deal with humans and their insistence on “Free Will” and “Human Rights.” He believes he is the smartest person in any room. He is dangerous, and angry – angry with small minded politicians, angry with incompetent underlings, and especially angry that his once loyal protégé, Peter Stanchek, has turned on him.

Within a tableau of death and destruction, writer Dysart is able to enthrall the reader’s imagination allowing them to see how Toyo Harada’s followers not only fear, but also worship him. And it is this fear and worship that holds Harada back from actually destroying everything. (This issue also reveals how Harada has stayed looking a young fifty years old for the last thirty years!?!)

This book is not all about Toyo Harada, however. Peter Stanchek – a powerful Psiot himself – and his band of renegade “Harbingers” have been desperately working against the clock to bring down Harada and his sprawling, secret network of conspiracy and subversion known publicly around the globe as the Harbinger Foundation. The Renegades have sacrificed much to reach this point. Now, a Final Showdown is coming!

Don’t Miss It!
