Not being fond of superheroes, I was quite surprised when I started reading the newly released Martian Manhunter. There was something about the cover the captured my attention and quickly falling love with the cover art I knew I needed to see the inside and boom… there I was enthralled not only with the art, but the story as well!

Martian Manhunter is written by Steve Orlando and the outstanding art work comes from Riley Rossmo. Published by DC Comics Martian Manhunter is quickly selling-out nationwide as it enthralls comic book readers everywhere.

Martian Manhunter begins on J’onn J’onnz home planet Mars, where we learn that Earth’s future superhero is about as corrupt as a law officer can be, but a reckoning is coming for J’onnz and the society he lives in. J’onn J’onnz will be given a second chance, one he doesn’t want or deserve! After a shocking murder, and the unexpected fragment of the Mars he lost, J’onn J’onnz’s life is about to change… along with the course of the Earth forever!

In flashbacks readers are given snippets of J’onn’s life on Mars, while he is investigating a grisly murder scene, here on earth… looks like a tie-in to what may have happened with J’onnz and his society back on mars. 

Martian Manhunter is the must have comic book of the week, I highly suggest readers pick this one up early, I fear it will be a sell-out and fans will be left waiting for a second printing! The artwork is mind-blowing and the story, while a bit slow is great! The slow build-up is for new readers and past readers to get to know Martian Manhunter and what he’s about.

WOW! Dark Horse Comics Rock!

Comic Book fans know that when they purchase a comic released by DC Comics or Marvel Comics odds are they are going to get a heck of a great story, but sometimes there is some stinkers… the choice of comics ultimately resides with the buyer.

My question is “if you are willing to take a chance on these comic book companies… why not try something new?” There seems to be new publishers popping up weekly and many of these companies are publishing comics by the same writers and artist that have been writing for the “Big Two.” One of these companies Dark Horse Comics, a terrific comic book publisher puts out new comic book stories by many of these writers, and they are definitely worth a look!
