Comic Book fans know that when they purchase a comic
released by DC Comics or Marvel Comics odds are they are going to get a heck of
a great story, but sometimes there is some stinkers… the choice of comics ultimately
resides with the buyer.
My question is “if you are willing to take a chance on these
comic book companies… why not try something new?” There seems to be new
publishers popping up weekly and many of these companies are publishing comics
by the same writers and artist that have been writing for the “Big Two.” One of
these companies Dark Horse Comics, a terrific comic book publisher puts out new
comic book stories by many of these writers, and they are definitely worth a
look!
One of the most iconic characters is published under Dark
Horse Comics would have to be Hellboy. Hellboy was created by writer-artist
Mike Mignola and made his first appearance in San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 in August
of 1993. Hellboy, a half-demon half-human was an instant hit with fans. The
character was so popular that not only did he have a successful long-running career
in comics, but he also jumped out of the pages of comics and into the silver
screen!
Along with their cool original characters Dark Horse’s
writers have taken several hit-movies and continued their story, with all-new
adventures, plots and travels. Fight Club is one of those iconic movies that
needed a good spin-off and Dark Horse provided. Fight Club fans have been on
cloud nine since the first series of Fight Club comics were released. Buyers
